As a paper artist, Lesley Haas creates visual dialogues between the malleability, tactility, and texture of paper while translating them into contemporary sculptural works. Her artworks explore the wide ranging possibilities of paper, whether handmade or a selection within her eclectic collection.

My studio work began in Heidelberg, Germany, where I experimented with handmade paper pulps, using a palette of sisal, cotton, and flax. With paper, I create narratives as a painter does with paint. Using a mixture of materials, I translate infinite and innovative possibilities into visual paper fabrications.
